Hank Haney at the North Texas Golf Expo 2010
Everyone knows Hank Haney as Tiger Woods' golf instructor. Ever since Hank became Tiger's golf instructor, his prominence as a golf instructor has risen and has become one of the top instructors in golf along the likes of David Ledbetter, Butch Harmon, Jim Flick and others. Hank Haney graduated from the University of Tulsa, and has lived in the Dallas, TX for quite awhile now. Hank was the golf coach for Mark O'Meara, and it was that connection that eventually led to the move of being Tiger Woods' golf coach. Haney says, "My philosophy as a teacher is to teach my students to become their own best teacher by getting them to understand the flight of the golf ball and how it relates to the swing, with emphasis on swinging the golf club on their own correct swing plane". Hank Haney was a featured speaker at the North Texas Golf Expo 2010 and described in detail how he goes about his teaching philosphy. The first step is to diagnose a golfer's swing. Before anyone can improve their golf game, and golf swing, they must understand their golf swing first, which will lead to better practice and improved golf game.
